HK's Tsang second in Gobi March

Hong Kong's Tsang Siu-keung finished second in the week-long 250km Gobi March race across the Gobi Desert. Winner Ryan Sandes from South Africa led the race from its first stage last Sunday and won all stages, including the demanding 79km 'Long March' section which traversed two days. Sandes completed the epic in 24 hours, 38 minutes and 20 seconds while Tsang finished in 25:09:00. Home prices rise in Quarry Bay and Taikoo Shing: demand soars for residential properties as more off

Latest figures compiled by Ricacorp Properties suggest that the average price of the most recently sold Taikoo Shing home has climbed to HK$16,132 a square foot, a record level for the development since October last year. Earlier this month, a two-bedroom, 582 sq ft home in block 22 fetched HK$10.5 million, a record price for this type of unit in the Taikoo Shing and Quarry Bay area, or about HK$16,371 per square foot. Patricia Gutierrez, a 66-year-old English teacher, was taking a nap with her 11-month-old granddaughter, Juliet, when she heard an earthquake alarm in Mexico City. “She recognised the sound. When I opened my eyes, I saw her eyes in terror. Her eyes were wide, like plates. She didn’t say anything,” Gutierrez said of her granddaughter.
